Brian Brennan serves as Vice Chairman of KeyBank’s Commercial Bank, culminating
more than three decades of senior leadership across the firm’s Capital Markets organization.
As former head of Fixed Income, Currency & Commodities (FICC), Brian led the full lifecycle of capital markets transactions—from underwriting and pricing to distribution and secondary trading—across Investment Grade and High Yield debt, Asset-Backed Securities, Municipal offerings, and derivative and FX hedging strategies.
His governance leadership included chairing the KBCM Credit Committee and serving on key risk and underwriting committees, including Market and Treasury Risk Management, Net Capital & Liquidity, and the Swap Dealer Governance Committee. Brian also contributed to industry advancement through FINRA’s Fixed Income Committee and the board of Bond Dealers of America.
Before finance, Brian played nine seasons in the National Football League with the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and San Diego Chargers—experience that cultivated the discipline and competitive drive defining his business career. He later worked in media as a broadcaster in northeast Ohio before joining KeyBank in 1995.
Brian has raised approximately $8 million over 35 years through the Brian Brennan Boys Hope Girls Hope Golf Tournament, supporting youth development and education. He is
currently serving as the 2026 Co-Chair of American Cancer Society Discovery Ball and is on the ACS Board of Ambassadors.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Boston College and holds Series 7, 9, 10, 24, 53, and 63 securities licenses.
